City Manager Darren Cook told the Grove City Council on July 15 that department head meetings now occur Mondays at 10 a.m. and that the city is nearing resolution of a virus issue affecting computers. Cook said the vendor "Bolt" is "just about complete with the virus issue" and that a new server will allow all city computers to run the same program versions. Public Works Director Deric Douthit reported that concrete work will begin at the new police and fire stations in about two weeks. Convention and Tourism Director Brent Malone reported positive outcomes for recent events, including Food Truck Friday and the Wolf Creek National Speed Boat Races. In ward reports, Ward III Councilor Andy Stewart said he believes Jeff Lovelady has done an outstanding job on commercials for the Convention and Tourism Bureau; At-large Councilor Ivan Devitt said he believes Brent Malone and Jeff Lovelady are doing an outstanding job for the city and the bureau.
