The Fairfield Community Schools Board voted unanimously June 12 to approve an Apple Master Lease Purchase Agreement to buy iPads for second- and third-grade classrooms, a three-day onsite Apple professional learning agreement, and a three-year agreement to continue using Edmentum for credit recovery and additional online courses.
Assistant Superintendent Monica Kegerreis presented the requests. The board approved the Apple lease on a motion by Aaron Rink, seconded by Brian Wogoman. The Apple Professional Learning three-day onsite agreement was approved on a motion by Sarah Elledge, seconded by Tyler Rensberger. The three-year Edmentum agreement — used for credit recovery and to offer courses not available in-person — was approved on a motion by Sarah Elledge and seconded by Tyler Rensberger. All motions passed unanimously.
The minutes record that Edmentum is used for credit recovery and can offer multiple courses that the district cannot provide as in-person classes. The board also approved Student Assurance Services for the 2025-26 school year on a motion by Sarah Elledge, seconded by Tyler Rensberger.
Additionally, the board approved disposal of obsolete textbooks and a list of high school library books removed “for various reasons;” both motions passed unanimously. The minutes do not list the total costs for the Apple lease, the Edmentum contract, or the disposal proceeds, nor do they specify which budget lines will cover the contracts.
