Board approves $27,630 in storm‑related fire‑alarm repairs for CTE and middle school

The North Spencer County School Corporation board approved $27,630 to repair and replace fire‑alarm equipment at two campus buildings following storm damage.
Superintendent Peters told the board the district received two quotes from Astro Security: $11,345 to replace a panel and repair detectors and pull alarms at the career and technical education (CTE) building, and $16,285 for comparable work at the middle school. Peters said carrying out both projects now ‘‘will get us very close to being all caught up and repaired with all our fire alarm system issues.’’
The superintendent said the high school has remaining work but it is not as urgent and will be addressed at a later date. Board members moved to approve the $27,630 expenditure; the motion was seconded and carried.
