Playground and school capital projects near completion; Christie Elementary utilities work to finish in October

The school board heard a project update noting that most capital work is winding down and two playground installations—at NC Haines and Montreal—remain to be completed.
Staff said NC Haines will begin earlier than Lincoln Trail because a pipe issue delayed Lincoln Trail's schedule. Christie Elementary's utilities are being disconnected with the town's cooperation; staff said they expect final work at Christie to be completed in October.
The superintendent noted contractors have performed some asphalt and exterior cleaning work; a local vendor also donated a $300 fall contribution to district schools and a playground cleaning was performed by an exterior‑cleaning company. The board did not take additional action on the project updates during the meeting.
