Commission approves engineering contract for CR 14 and CR 17 intersection improvements

Dana Larsen, Ward County highway engineer, presented the scope of work and cost estimate for preliminary engineering for intersection improvements at County Road 14 and County Road 17 (project HLC-5144(060), PCN 24498). The commission approved the base scope and fees and authorized the chairman to sign the engineering contract.

Commissioner Rostad moved to approve the contract scope, fees and authorize the chairman to sign; Commissioner Schuler seconded. A roll-call vote recorded Commissioners Rostad, Merritt (by phone), Olson, Schuler and Chair Fjeldahl voting yes and the motion passed. The minutes do not provide the contract dollar amount within the narrative; a separate bills list and highway bills were recorded elsewhere in the minutes, but the engineering-contract amount is not printed in the narrative section.

The commission also received and filed a separate LithTec Field Test Project report later in the meeting; that action was recorded as received and filed and is distinct from the intersection contract approval.
