Resident raises concerns about election anomalies; commissioners advise next steps

At the Aug. 19 meeting, resident Josiah Roise addressed the commission with questions about elections and said he believed there were anomalies with election machines during the Minot mayoral special election. Roise said he has affidavits from voters and asked that his concerns be filed with the county.

Commissioner Fjeldahl and Commissioner Rostad told Roise he could bring the affidavits to be received and filed at the next commission meeting. Commissioner Olson advised Roise that if he wished to formally contest the election outcome he would need to proceed through district court.
