Board approves $370,372 right-of-way agreement for High Plains Boulevard project

Weld County commissioners on Aug. 13 authorized a memorandum of agreement to acquire property interest needed for the design-build project on High Plains Boulevard, also known as County Road 9.5, between County Roads 32 and 34.

Cameron Parrott of Public Works presented the agreement and said the county will acquire 6.25 acres of right of way and 4.25 acres of easement from property owner Martha Fisher. Parrott told the board the parcel is at the northeast corner of the future intersection of High Plains Boulevard and Weld County Road 32 and that total compensation for the agreement is $370,372.

Commissioner Kevin Ross moved to approve Contract ID 9828; Commissioner Lynette Peppler seconded the motion and the board voted in favor. The contract was approved during the meeting.

Parrott answered commissioner questions about the property location and compensation and offered to provide additional details if requested. The agreement will let the county proceed with right-of-way acquisition work needed for the design-build project on County Road 9.5.

The motion approving the memorandum of agreement was adopted at the Aug. 13 meeting.
