Board awards $59,953.60 contract for Lewis Central High School marquee video sign

The Lewis Central Community School District Board of Directors on June 30 approved a $59,953.60 contract with Sandow Signs to replace the video marquee at Lewis Central High School.

Staff presented two bids: one from Vital Signs for a 10-millimeter pixel video board and one from Sandow Signs for a 9-millimeter board. Staff explained that a smaller millimeter rating denotes a tighter pixel pitch and higher image resolution. The Sandow bid also included work to refresh the existing Lewis Central sign above the video board. Board members asked about who can upload materials to the sign and whether the sign will remain in place if future frontage or site plans are implemented; staff said the location is likely to remain and that sign content can be updated via an app-based uploader.

The board approved the Sandow Signs proposal as item 6.04 by roll-call vote. Staff said the district would handle routine graphics updates and painting of associated markings; the board did not approve any relocation of the sign at this time.
