Authority sets dates for three fall tournaments; pricing and details to be finalized

The Atoka Municipal Golf Authority voted to set dates for three upcoming tournaments: the Club Championship on Sept. 13, the Chamber of Commerce tournament on Sept. 27, and the Alumni tournament on Oct. 4.
Trustees discussed operational impacts. Staff said the Chamber tournament will require closing the course for play and the club championship will also close the course; the Alumni tournament was described as not requiring a course closure because participants “fall in” with normal play. A trustee said the Chamber event had previously been discussed at a price of about $1,500 plus corporate fees, but trustees did not finalize pricing at the meeting.
Why it matters: the dates affect course closures, staffing and rental-cart availability during the busy fall season. Trustees asked staff to return with final pricing and category/entry details before the events.
Details and format: trustees discussed age brackets for the club championship (suggested divisions included under-55; 56–75; 75+; women’s division) and agreed to have one overall club champion plus bracket winners. Staff and trustees said they will prepare entry categories, playing tees and any fee structure and present them for approval, possibly at a special meeting.
Action: trustees moved to set the three dates and the motion passed by roll call (Mister Armstrong: Aye; Mister Burridge: Aye; Mister Kathy: Aye). Trustees agreed to finalize pricing and tournament structure in a follow-up meeting.
