Planning commissioners volunteer for town celebration booths after organizers seek extra help

Select Board member Barbara asked the Rutland Town Planning Commission for additional volunteers to staff the planning commission booth at the town‑wide celebration scheduled this weekend. The request came during announcements at the Aug. 21 meeting.

Commissioners said the event requires multiple short shifts to staff display boards about the pocket park and other planning projects. Two commissioners volunteered for morning shifts and others said they would check schedules and help if they could. Acting Chair Dana Peterson asked staff to include booth scheduling details in meeting minutes and to copy commissioners on follow‑up emails.

No formal vote was required. Staff and volunteers will coordinate setup and take‑down times and share shift assignments by email before the event.
