Commissioners name 400 block of West Bleecker Street 'Hall Family Lane' and accept plaque for animal services

The Duplin County Board of Commissioners approved a request to name the lane at the 400 block of West Bleecker Street "Hall Family Lane." Melissa Kennedy presented the request on behalf of Jolinda Farlow. Commissioner Garner moved to approve the lane name; Commissioner Branch seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.

Separately, the Maysville Police Department presented a plaque to Duplin County Animal Services in recognition of the department's assistance with an animal case in Mayesville earlier this year. A Maysville officer said crews rescued five puppies and a mother dog during execution of a search warrant and credited Duplin County Animal Services with medical care and transport that night. County staff accepted the plaque and thanked the Maysville officers for coming to present it.

Both items were presented without objection and required no further board action beyond the voice approvals recorded in the meeting transcript.
