The board approved several governance and operational items: it adopted amended board procedures (members voted to expand eligibility for the student board member to include 10th through 12th graders at the main campus), accepted a policy revision on Section 504 procedural responsibilities for first reading, and adopted the district-wide school safety plan for the 2025–26 school year.\n\nOn Policy 50 20.3 (rights of students with disabilities under Section 504), Dr. McCall presented a proposed change that would allow principals or their designees (assistant principals or executive assistants) to chair Section 504 meetings; the board was told that all other aspects of the policy would remain unchanged and that the item will come back for final approval in 30 days.\n\nTrustees adopted the district-wide school safety plan as written and discussed a recently signed state law requiring cardiac-response plans; the board and staff agreed they will hold a security meeting in August to address the new cardiac emergency requirements and make any necessary amendments to the safety plan before the January effective date cited by staff. Several resolutions and routine agreements also passed during the meeting (see actions array).
