CityWalk to host Cars & Coffee event with NASCAR simulators and car show Friday

Organizers briefed the Birmingham City Council on Oct. 21 about a Cars & Coffee event set for Friday, Oct. 24 at CityWalk, billed as a family‑friendly car show and community activation featuring NASCAR participation.

Pearl Bridal Strategies President and CEO Martha Bozeman said the event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and include a car‑show competition, a featured showcase (including the mayor’s car “Ella May”), a food‑truck court, DJ music, live performances beginning at 3 p.m., a kids’ zone provided by the Birmingham Museum of Art, two NASCAR driving simulators and vehicle displays from Talladega Superspeedway.

Organizers said Max Transit will provide a shuttle for city employees running every 15 minutes from Short 20th Street between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Volunteers include students from Lawson State Community College’s automotive program and local car‑club members. Event partners named in remarks include Talladega Superspeedway, Black Restaurant Week and other local vendors.

Organizers invited council members and the public to attend; the presentation closed with thanks to council staff for facilitating food‑truck logistics and permitting.
