Committee approves Jay Restaurant patio lease at Vulcan Heritage Park

The Appleton Parks and Recreation Committee approved a lease for Jay Restaurant to continue use of patio space in Vulcan Heritage Park.

The item (listed in the packet as a lease for 2025 to 02/1930) drew only brief discussion. Director Gazza said the restaurant has been a "great tenant," maintaining both the leased area and adjacent park grounds, performing landscaping tasks and assisting with cleanup. "They keep the area that they have clean, they go beyond that and try to keep the whole area clean," Gazza said.

Committee members asked about any park-use conflicts during the lease term; Gazza said the partnership has been mutually beneficial and the department has not experienced issues that would warrant denying the renewed use of that space.

Outcome: The committee voted to approve the lease by voice vote; the motion passed 5–0.
