Golf course reports revenue gains, driveway paving and driving‑range improvements as major projects progress

Dean, the golf course superintendent, told the Logosport Parks and Recreation Board on Sept. 10 that rounds and revenue are up year‑to‑date. He said August results were strong and that the course is about $70,000 ahead for the year; he attributed improved outcomes partly to new equipment and project work.

Project updates included near completion of cart‑path paving (contractor expected to finish by Friday), seeding and matting on the driving range landing areas and installation of range irrigation and topsoil. Dean said roughly 120–150 loads of stone were hauled for cart‑path work with assistance from the city street and county highway departments. He said only nine holes have been open at times during construction but expects better play after paving finishes.

Dean said a new storage barn was completed and awaits inspection before staff can move equipment in; he also described a simulator room that is installed but needs final projector placement and configuration, with staff aiming for readiness by September. He added the department has applied for a three‑way license and is awaiting a state hearing in October.

Staff said the seasonal crew’s work was critical to completing many projects, and thanked the park board and city departments for support during a difficult summer for turf. No board motions were taken at the meeting; staff reported progress and outlined near‑term work and inspections.
