Board accepts donations, approves adjunct instructors and hires for 2025–26 school year

At the Sept. 8 meeting, Canyon ISD trustees unanimously accepted two donations, approved a slate of adjunct instructors (county extension agents) and approved employment of professional staff listed in the board packet for the 2025–26 school year.

Administrators reported a $3,000 donation for the first‑year teacher training program from Bill Jenkins and a $2,456 donation from the Raider Club for Randall High School football. Trustees moved and unanimously approved accepting the gifts in accordance with board policy.

Trustees also approved several counties’ requests to designate extension agents as adjunct teaching staff so they may serve in educational roles with students across county lines; the counties named included Randall, Potter, Swisher and Carson where students participate in 4‑H and extension programming.

Finally, the board accepted the administrative recommendation to employ the professional employees listed in the meeting packet for the 2025–26 school year, subject to the local salary schedule and assignment by the superintendent. All motions were approved unanimously.
