Poudre River Trail final segment due by year end; fee-area upgrades progressing

Larimer County natural-resources staff told the Board of County Commissioners on Sept. 15 that work on several visitor-facing projects is progressing, including the final segment of the Poudre River Trail and infrastructure upgrades in areas where the county collects visitor fees.

Leslie Ellis said the county accelerated work in its fee-collection areas and that “most of those will be completed this fall,” which staff said benefits visitors and programs that rely on that revenue. She said the Poudre River Trail final segment should be complete by the end of the year; staff plan a soft ribbon-cutting event then and intend to host a larger celebration in spring to mark the regional connection the trail creates, linking Greeley to the foothills.
