San Felipe del Rio CISD receives $402,000 in CCMR bonuses after graduates exceed state thresholds

District staff told trustees on Sept. 15 that San Felipe del Rio CISD earned $402,000 in College, Career or Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes bonuses for the 2024 graduating class, up from $245,000 in 2023. The presentation explained the per-student bonus amounts the state awards: $5,000 for economically disadvantaged graduates who meet the threshold, $3,000 for non-economically disadvantaged graduates, and $4,000 for graduates enrolled in special education who meet the criteria.
Staff reported the district's share of graduates who earned an associate degree was 8.4% (vs. the state average of 2.5%), and that 8.6% of graduates earned a level 1 or level 2 certificate (vs. the state percentage of 0.8%). For the 2024 graduates, the district had 59 economically disadvantaged graduates who met the threshold (compared with 28 in 2023), 33 non-economically disadvantaged graduates meeting the threshold (33 vs. 35 in 2023), and two special-education graduates meeting the threshold (compared with 0 in 2023), resulting in the $402,000 total.
The administration said the bonus will be added to the general fund balance and reinvested in innovative programs and instruction.
