The Rancho Mirage City Council voted 5-0 on Sept. 18 to approve a slate of appointees to the Mobile Home Fair Practices Commission, filling two vacancies that had caused multiple meeting cancellations.
City Clerk Christie Ramos told the council the commission had missed meetings because of vacancies and attendance issues and that several applications were received. Ramos read the nominations forwarded by councilmembers: Wallace Hill (mayoral appointee), Stuart Clyde (Mayor Pro Tem appointee), Marlene Caseta (Council member Downs' appointee), Cathy Miller (Council member Fromberg Edelstein's appointee), Mike Renner (Council member O'Keefe's appointee), Kenneth Easley (at-large nonvoting mobile-home-owner appointee) and Stanton Markowitz (at-large nonvoting park owner/operator manager appointee).
Ramos said, if approved, the nominees would serve the remainder of the current term through May 2026. No members of the public spoke on the item. A council member moved to approve the slate and the motion carried on a 5-0 vote.
Council members thanked volunteers and emphasized the importance of commission service; staff will notify appointees and complete the required onboarding for the remainder of the term.
