District staff provided an update on Measure H implementation, the citizens oversight committee and recent and upcoming facility projects funded by bond proceeds.
Staff said the citizens oversight committee’s purpose is to monitor bond expenditures and review warrants and the annual audit; the committee has seven members and visited Valley Oaks in May. The district plans to host the next oversight meeting at Fairsite to review potential modernization and a new school building site.
The staff presentation included the ballot language and a bond project list from the measure. Projects completed or underway include replacement of multipurpose flooring at Greer, field regrading at River Oaks, replacement of HVAC units at McCaffrey, and planning work for an expanded administration building at Valley Oaks. Upcoming projects listed in the packet include restructuring parking lots at Greer and River Oaks, adding single‑stall gender‑neutral restrooms at River Oaks, Greer and Lake Canyon, upgrading play structures, adding shade structures and updating classroom door hardware.
Board members asked how many people serve on the oversight committee; staff said seven. The district said project priorities were informed by school site feedback, district advisory committees and a facility master‑plan process.
Less critical details: staff noted Valley Oaks and Fairsite are the district’s oldest campuses and therefore will receive a large portion of the bond funds; the packet included allowable project types such as security upgrades, roof plumbing and athletic field improvements.
