Board approves consent agenda including appointment of Ryan Philbin and acceptance of Catherine Bodelson resignation

At its Sept. 18 meeting, the Fort Atkinson Board of Education approved the consent agenda, which included personnel actions, a policy second reading and payment of district bills.

The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Miss Celi and seconded by Miss Reynolds. The board clerk took roll call: Mrs. Reynolds, Mr. Lupe, Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Celi and Mr. Nickram each voted yes; the motion passed.

Included in the consent agenda were: an appointment (effective Sept. 4, 2025, contingent upon release from current contracts, satisfactory pre-placement health screening and background check) of Ryan Philbin to a 1.0 FTE social studies teacher position at Fort Atkinson Middle School; acceptance of the resignation of Catherine Bodelson, 1.0 FTE social studies teacher at Fort Atkinson Middle School, retroactive to Aug. 21, 2025, “upon satisfaction of liquidated damages for failure to perform in the amount of $1,000”; notation that board policy update 34.2 was at its second reading; and authorization to pay district bills and accept the treasurer’s reports.

This action was recorded as a consent vote with no separate public discussion on those items during the motion. The board did not take additional formal votes on individual consent items at the meeting.
