U‑46 board approves 2025–29 tentative agreement with DUIA

The School District U‑46 Board of Education voted Friday to approve a tentative agreement covering 2025–29 with the district’s employee association (identified in the meeting as DUIA). The board authorized the board president and superintendent to sign the tentative agreement.

Chief legal officer Tricia Olsen and Deputy Superintendent Lola Maistorovich presented the agreement to the board. During the public comment portion of the meeting one speaker, Jose Perez, identified himself as a district employee and commended the district and the association for reaching what he called a “just contract” after a long bargaining process.

Board members verbally thanked both the district negotiating team and the association for their work on the contract. The board approved the tentative agreement by roll call vote; the record shows unanimous approval.

The board’s action at the meeting authorized execution of the tentative agreement and contained no immediate implementation details read into the public record during the meeting; the administration indicated the agreement will be carried out according to the terms negotiated and returned to the board for any required formal ratification steps as appropriate under board policy.
