Board OKs additional review days for Brisco Consulting to complete fund 003 forensic work, 3‑2

The Riverside board voted 3‑2 to authorize an additional 45 days and up to $6,500 for Brisco Consulting Group to finish a comprehensive review — including a targeted forensic review of fund 003 — after the consultant reported delays obtaining requested records.

Board members questioning the extension said they had not seen a deliverable from the consulting work already paid for and sought clarity on what Brisco had completed before approving additional funds. Trustees who supported the extension said the consultant could not finish without the district records and that completing the forensic review was necessary to provide a clean record for the incoming treasurer.

The motion passed 3‑2. The board directed staff to obtain a status report and interim deliverables from Brisco and to ensure records requests are fulfilled promptly to allow the consultant to complete the review within the newly authorized timeframe and budget.
