County staff seek extension of Arvada telecommunications lease; proceeds to support parks

Parks and open‑space staff told commissioners they are seeking approval to enter an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the City of Arvada to extend an existing lease for a telecommunications site located near the Ralston Creek/Regional Park corridor along Highway 93 and 6060 Fourth Parkway.

Staff said the site hosts communications equipment and that revenue from the lease would be used for park and open‑space purposes. The briefing did not include a copy of a final, signed IGA; staff asked the board to approve the agreement in concept and bring a final form back for signature.

Tom Hobie and presenting staff described the request as an extension of an existing arrangement rather than a new lease and said all proceeds will fund park and open‑space activities. Commissioners asked no substantive questions and signaled support for moving the matter forward.
