Parks department reports rising Reed Golf Course revenue; 2026 parks and special funds budgets presented

The committee reviewed several informational and budget items for 2026, including Reed Golf Course revenue and expense reports, the Reed Golf Course 2026 proposed budget, the Parks & Recreation 2026 proposed budget and special revenue funds.

Director Gaza told the committee Reed Golf Course revenues are exceeding last year’s figures and expenses are in line with expectations; he added the course’s debt is nearly paid off. The department presented a status-quo parks budget intended to maintain existing services and noted a plan to add an additional playground site after a public survey determines the best location. Special revenue funds include donations held for future projects; no funds were proposed for use this year.

Committee members asked about schedule timing for items tied to the naming policy and renaming process; Director Gaza said the department will adjust administrative timelines to align with council action. No formal vote was taken on budget items during the meeting; they were presented for review ahead of the upcoming budget process.
