Canton Supervisor proclaims United Against Hate Week

Canton Supervisor Anne Marie Graham Hudak read a brief proclamation recognizing United Against Hate Week and urged residents to stand against harassment and hate. Hudak said the observance runs from Oct. 19 through Oct. 25 and called Canton Township "the most diverse community in Michigan," describing the townships diversity as "a model for other communities." She invited residents to make signs, take photos and email them to the supervisors office at CantonMI.gov to show support.

The remarks were ceremonial: Hudak framed the week as a community effort "to stop hate" and encouraged actions that promote safety, welcome and mutual respect. No formal board action, motions or votes were made on the matter during the recorded remarks.
