Council recognizes Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Eduardo Villareal for local projects and support

The council recognized Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Eduardo Gabriel Villareal for his office’s assistance on drainage projects, business center support, the Abram Road payment plan, and other county collaborations benefitting Palm View.

Mayor Villareal and other council members thanked the commissioner for work described as helping secure more than $2 million (discussed in the meeting as growing toward $3 million in combined funding) for drainage projects that connect to the city’s northern boundary and for assistance with the city’s park and community giveaway distributions. Several council members also praised Commissioner Villareal’s responsiveness to emergencies and partnership on regional planning grants such as an anticipated $180,000 planning grant for a hike‑and‑bike trail connection.
