Resident urges council to address loud music at Rodeo Arena pavilion; says police unresponsive

During the public-comment period on July 21, resident Greg Holt of 420 Green Hill Park told the council that loud bass and music from the Rodeo Arena pavilion have disturbed his neighborhood for 18 months to two years.

Holt said music sometimes runs until midnight or 1 a.m., and that the bass is pervasive in his home. He said he had contacted the police department and specific officers but that follow-up calls and texts went unanswered. Holt praised Lieutenant Nichols for responding and instructing officers to shut the music down when he called; Holt said the music pauses briefly but resumes shortly thereafter.

Holt said multiple neighbors share the concern but have not pursued action, and he said he's considering legal remedies including seeking an injunction if the city or pavilion operators do not address the noise. He asked the council to investigate and take action.

Council took no immediate enforcement action during the meeting; the chief later discussed broader noise-enforcement tools and asked residents to document dates and times of incidents to assist targeted enforcement.
