Waukegan CUSD 60 seats four new board members; Michael Rodriguez elected president

Waukegan CUSD 60 on April 28 said it seated four newly elected members of its board of education at a special organizational meeting and elected Michael Rodriguez as board president and Carolina Fabian as vice president.

The district said Nita Hanna, Jeff McBride, Angelo Ramirez and Michael Rodriguez took the oath of office following their election on April 1. The board elected Michael Rodriguez president and Carolina Fabian vice president and recognized outgoing members Brandon Ewing and Adriana Gonzales for their service. The district noted Ewing served from 2017 to 2025, including six years as board president; Gonzales served from 2021 to 2025.

The actions were announced in the district’s weekly update delivered by Nicholas Alatsakis, director of communications. The update described the seating and leadership elections as part of the board’s organizational business and the formal recognition of departing members.
