Board of Trustees recognizes Candace Hall as Orange County classified school employee of the year

The Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees formally recognized Candace Hall as the Orange County classified school employee of the year for 2025 in the health and student services category. An unidentified board member made the announcement during the board meeting and invited the honoree and the newly appointed superintendent to join at center stage.

The board said Hall was selected for her work as a licensed vocational nurse, citing her compassion, clinical expertise and coordination of student health services. The trustees highlighted her role in developing standardized care plans, creating timelines, onboarding health office staff and mentoring colleagues across departments to improve systemwide practices that support student academic and social success.

Board remarks described Hallas going beyond daily duties by engaging families to ensure access to care, including helping them find providers and translation services when needed. The board noted she has served the district for more than 13 years and recognized her leadership and contributions to student well-being.

The recognition was presented as an item on the board agenda; no formal vote or motion was recorded in the transcript. Trustees closed the agenda item with a round of applause for Hall.
