Utah County GOP hosts central committee meeting Jan. 13, caucus March 5 and Lincoln Day dinner March 16

Utah County Republican Party leaders announced a dense schedule of events for early 2025 on the party’s inaugural podcast, telling members to expect a central committee meeting Jan. 13 in Lehi, caucuses on March 5, a Lincoln Day dinner March 16 at Utah Valley University and county and state conventions April 20 and April 27, respectively.

Christy, chair of the Utah County Republican Party, said the central committee meeting will be held in the northern part of the county at Vista Junior High in Lehi and called on precinct officers and house-district leadership to attend. “As soon as Christmas break is over, January 13, if you’re on the central committee meeting, we will be meeting,” Christy said.

The hosts emphasized the caucus night on March 5 as a neighborhood-level event where voters elect local party delegates and leadership. “Caucuses — caucuses is the most exciting thing that is in our ball park,” Christy said. “It comes to your neighborhood, and you get to elect people that hopefully you know and understand, and have similar values.”

The podcast also gave logistical reminders. Christy told listeners that filing for many offices will be handled by the state and that filing opens from Jan. 2–8 for positions that require filing. “So if you have any interest in filing and there is a position that is going to be open … filing is open with the state from the second through the eighth,” she said.

Hosts said Lincoln Day dinner will be March 16 at UVU and described it as both a fundraiser and a social event; county convention is scheduled for April 20 at 9 a.m., and the state convention for April 27. They encouraged members to watch ucrp.org for mailers and posted schedules.

The hosts framed the calendar as part of a broader push to rotate meeting locations north/central/south in the county to improve access and participation. “We are believe in the northern part of the county now, and our hope and our goal is to try and go northern, central, south,” Christy said.
