Commissioners adopt comprehensive plan amendment to change 47.6 acres near McKendree Road to Employment Center

Pasco County commissioners voted Oct. 7 to adopt a comprehensive plan amendment that changes roughly 47.58 acres on the west side of McKendree Road from agriculture to Employment Center.

Planning staff described P 48 as a comprehensive plan amendment to Future Land Use Map 15 and sheet 14 changing approximately 47.58 acres from AG (agricultural) to EC (Employment Center). The parcel is located about 3,560 feet south of the intersection of Tyndall Road and McKendree Road. Staff said the action included any required text amendments for internal consistency, repeal/severability provisions and an effective date and that both the Planning, Development and Economic Growth Department and the local planning agency recommended adoption.

When asked whether the board wanted a presentation, commissioners declined and there were no public speakers for the item. The board adopted the amendment by roll-call vote; District 1 Commissioner Oakley, District 2 Commissioner Waitman, District 4 Commissioner Yeager, District 5 Commissioner Mariano and Chairman Starkey were recorded voting "Aye."
