Election Central reports citizenship‑letter tally and voter‑list maintenance; printers added under HAVA grant

Kylie Perez, Election Central staff, told the Election Board on Oct. 2 that, since July 1, the office had mailed 41 requests for proof of citizenship; six of those letters were returned as undeliverable, one person returned a response indicating they were not a U.S. citizen and three provided documentation to keep their records active.
Perez also reported that voter‑list maintenance since July 1 processed 7,558 records: 6,523 of those voters were made inactive, 814 stayed active, 189 were canceled and 32 were rejected. She raised early concerns about the county’s 2026 early‑voting location and asked the board to consider backup sites if construction delays push completion beyond February.
On equipment, staff said the county received five printers under a HAVA grant and that the vendor intends to replace the current models with newly certified printers once state certification and vendor recertification are complete. Staff cautioned that newer certified machines may be substituted and that production lead times for some election equipment can be six to eight months, which could affect upgrade timing for 2026.
