Council reviews proposed ordinance changes for recreational vehicle rentals and golf carts

The Orange Beach City Council on Oct. 7 placed on its agenda proposed ordinances to amend chapter 50 (recreational vehicle rentals) and chapter 70 (golf carts).

City staff clarified during the agenda listing that the amendments would define what constitutes a recreational vehicle and would allow, where approved within a PUD, the rental of golf carts or fleets of recreational vehicles. "What are we clarifying what a recreational vehicle is in the golf cart is now? So within the PUDs, they can rent out, they can get their own fleet of golf carts and such like that or recreational vehicles," an agenda speaker said.
