Residents and commissioners praise longtime Historic Preservation Commission member Tom Hardy

Several councilors and members of the public took time during the meeting’s committee correspondence and public comment periods to thank Thomas (Tom) Hardy for his service on the Historic Preservation Commission.

Councilor (unnamed in transcript) thanked Hardy as a "very conscientious, hardworking member" who balanced downtown aesthetic concerns with property rights. Public commenter Chris Delano, who identified himself as a Historic Preservation Commission member and Tom Hardy’s neighbor, said Hardy “deserves to be celebrated and acknowledged.” Resident Beth Johnston also praised Hardy’s thoughtful, conscientious contributions and noted she expects the commission to seek a similarly conscientious replacement.
