Council awards wastewater secondary-clarifier rehabilitation contract to Century Equipment for $529,338

Background and procurement

Municipal Utilities staff said a previously awarded contract could not proceed with pre-purchasing equipment; the contract was terminated and the project was repackaged for rebid. Bids were received from eight contractors; the lowest responsive and responsible bidder was Century Equipment Corp. The staff report recommended awarding the non-professional services agreement to Century with the total amount stated above.

Council found the project exempt from CEQA per the state guidelines cited in the staff report and approved the agreement as recommended. Staff said the rebid included contingencies for potential construction issues.
