Finance committee appropriates $17,600 to replace totaled police cruiser

The finance committee approved a request on Oct. 6 to appropriate $17,600 from auction proceeds to replace a police cruiser that was totaled. The committee vote was 5-0.

Committee members were told the money came from sale proceeds of retired cruisers. The appropriation will allow the police department to apply the received funds toward purchasing a replacement vehicle.

Motion by Barker and seconded by Hauser. There was no further discussion and the committee chair called the voice vote; the motion passed 5-0.

The meeting record shows the committee opened by stating general fund balances ($244,169 unappropriated; $581,808 in the budget stabilization fund) before taking the appropriation vote. No additional conditions or follow-up tasks were recorded on the appropriation during the committee meeting.
