City Council Advances Stormwater Master Plan Led by Public Works Director Gao Yang Bozowa

The City Council of Talent took a significant step forward in environmental management during their recent meeting on November 20, 2024, by advancing the adoption of a new stormwater master plan. This plan, which has been in development since early 2023, aims to address critical updates needed for the city's stormwater management system, which has not been revised since 1999.

Public Works Director and City Engineer, Gao Yang Bozowa, presented the report, emphasizing the importance of the updated plan. "This stormwater master plan has been in the pipeline for a while," Bozowa stated, highlighting the collaborative efforts with Rogue Valley Sewer Services, represented by Nick Becky, who contributed to the plan's development.

The new master plan includes several recommendations designed to improve the city's stormwater infrastructure and management practices. Bozowa noted that such plans should be updated every five to ten years, making this revision not only timely but essential for the community's environmental health.

The council's discussion reflects a growing commitment to sustainable urban planning and infrastructure resilience, ensuring that Talent is better prepared for future environmental challenges.
