Commissioners Open Bids for Round Building Demolition by Olympus and Askins Construction

The bid for completion by June 30, 2023, was priced at $434,776.85, while a later completion date of July 30, 2023, was quoted at $424,457.85.

The second bid came from Askins Construction, which offered a price of $531,750 for the June completion date and a significantly higher bid of $1,043,500 for the July completion date. Following the bid presentations, a motion was made to refer the bids to staff for further evaluation and recommendations. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

In addition to the bid discussions, the meeting also included three scheduled public hearings, indicating a busy agenda for the commissioners. The outcomes of these hearings and the staff recommendations on the bids will be important for the county's future planning and development efforts.
