Yellowstone County Commissioners Approve Tax Abatement for CHS Manufacturing Facility

During the Yellowstone County Commissioner Meeting on January 23, 2024, significant progress was made in advancing local infrastructure projects through the opening of bids for two key public works initiatives.

The first project discussed was the Public Works Asphalt Overlay Project, which received three bids. Riverside Contracting submitted the lowest bid at $1,269,819, followed by Askin Construction with a bid of $1,691,450, and Knife River at $1,433,568.25. The commissioners unanimously voted to refer these bids to staff for further evaluation and a report back to the board, ensuring that the selection process remains thorough and transparent.

In addition, the meeting included the opening of bids for the Public Works Scour Repair project on Bridal 0928 at the Clarks Fork River. Five bids were presented, with Holden Excavating offering the lowest bid of $36,352.36. Other bids included Winkler Excavating at $79,500, Martin Construction at $74,838.64, Weave Construction at $92,490, and Donna's Construction, which also submitted a bid.
