Commissioner Hutchins Recognizes Kings Mountain Volleyball Team's State Championship Win

The Kings Mountain High School volleyball team was celebrated at the Cleveland County Commissioner’s meeting on January 16, 2024, following their remarkable achievement of winning the NCHSAA 3A state championship. Commissioner Hutchins proudly recognized the team, highlighting their impressive season record of 34 wins and just one loss, marking the first state championship victory in 20 years for the Lady Mountaineers.

As the team gathered in front of the commissioners, Coach Lindsay Ellis introduced the players, showcasing their dedication and hard work throughout the season. The meeting featured a proclamation from the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners, commending the team for their perseverance and sportsmanship. Commissioner Hutchins noted the strong support from the Kings Mountain community, mentioning that fans outnumbered those from Orange County during the championship game in Raleigh.
