Advisory Committee Welcomes New Members During Kansas City Meeting

The Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) convened its Licensed Psychology Advisory Committee on August 12, 2025, to discuss key agenda items and welcome new members. The meeting began with a motion to approve the agenda, which was unanimously accepted.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to introducing new advisory committee members. Dr. Jennifer Fontaine, a psychologist from Kansas City, Missouri, and Bob Twillman, manager of psychology services at St. Luke's Health System, were among those welcomed. Each member shared their professional backgrounds, highlighting their roles in various psychological services across the state.

The committee chair, Richard Nobles, who works in the neurology department at KU Med, initiated the introductions. Other members included Christopher Leonard, director of counseling at Wichita State University; Jay Middleton, a psychologist focused on assessments in Southeast Kansas; and Sarah Kirk, director of the KU Psychological Clinic. The introductions fostered a sense of community and collaboration among the members.

The meeting underscored the committee's commitment to enhancing psychological services in Kansas, with members expressing enthusiasm for their roles and the collaborative efforts ahead. The next steps for the committee will likely involve discussions on ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at improving mental health services statewide.
