Utah County Council recognizes 30 years of Farm Field Days with resolution

The Utah County Commission celebrated a significant milestone at their recent meeting, recognizing 30 years of the Utah County Farm Field Days program. Co-chair Belva Parr expressed gratitude for the extensive community support that has made the event possible, highlighting the contributions of volunteers, schools, and agricultural organizations.

Parr noted that the program has relied on the dedication of 50 to 60 volunteers daily, along with the backing of county extension agents and local agricultural educators. She emphasized the importance of mentorship provided to FFA students, which enhances the educational experience for second graders participating in the program.

The commission unanimously approved a resolution honoring the program's three-decade legacy and acknowledging the efforts of all involved, including Utah State University extensions and 4-H. The motion was met with enthusiasm, underscoring the community's commitment to agricultural education and youth mentorship.
