Provo City seeks $2.6M from Utah County for Rock Canyon improvements

The discussion included a breakdown of contributions from various partners, including the Rock Canyon Preservation Alliance and the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, which has pledged $100,000.

George Hanley, a representative from the Rock Canyon Preservation Alliance and a Provo City Council member, expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the community's eagerness to see it implemented. He noted ongoing fundraising efforts to cover any funding gaps and highlighted the importance of securing funding for the roundabout, which is crucial for the overall project timeline.

The commission aims for a grand opening on June 3, 2023, coinciding with National Trails Day, and emphasized the urgency of moving forward with funding to ensure timely project delivery.
