Utah County Commission honors Gala Quitner as Employee of the Month

The Utah County Commission convened on June 8, 2022, to address several agenda items, beginning with a welcoming session that included a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting commenced with the attendance of key members, including Rob Moore, Paul Jones, Ralph Barnes, and Richard Nielsen.

Following the opening, the commission recognized Gala Quintner as the Employee of the Month. Gala, who serves as a senior office specialist for the Utah County Alternative Program, was nominated for her exceptional contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her efforts included revamping program operations, updating procedures, and assisting with the federal CARES grant, which significantly improved the program's efficiency and professionalism. Gala expressed gratitude for her team and highlighted the rewarding experience of witnessing participants turn their lives around.

After the recognition, the commission transitioned into a work session, inviting Phil Dean to present. Dean's presentation was noted to be time-sensitive, as he needed to return to Salt Lake City for a class afterward.

The meeting's structure emphasized both recognition of individual contributions and the importance of ongoing work within the county, setting the stage for further discussions on the regular agenda items that would follow.
