Public Safety Committee approves liquor license for Pink House by the Bay LLC

The San Francisco Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee convened on January 25, 2024, to discuss a key agenda item: the proposed transfer of a liquor license to Pink House by the Bay LLC. This establishment, located at 800 Bay Street, seeks a Type 20 off-sale beer and wine license, which would allow them to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises.

Officer Salmasen from the SFPD's Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) liaison unit presented the case, noting that there were no letters of protest or support regarding the application. However, the location is situated in a high-crime area, classified as Plot 106, and falls within a high saturation census tract. Despite these concerns, the Central Station reported no opposition to the application. The ABC unit recommended approval, with a stipulation that the business actively monitor its surroundings to prevent loitering.

After a brief discussion, during which no questions were raised, the committee moved to prepare a resolution supporting the liquor license transfer. The motion passed with two votes in favor, as Supervisor Matt Dorsey was excused from the meeting.

The committee's decision will now be forwarded to the full Board of Supervisors for further consideration, marking a significant step for Pink House by the Bay as it seeks to establish its presence in the community.
