San Francisco Fire Commission welcomes new Commissioner Paula Collins during public meeting

She reported on the progress of the upcoming firefighter academy, with approximately 60 candidates undergoing medical evaluations for the January class. Nicholson also highlighted ongoing collaborations with local government officials, including District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, who expressed satisfaction with the fire department's efforts in his district.

The Chief mentioned that the graduation ceremony for the current firefighter academy class is scheduled for November 18, inviting all commissioners to attend. She concluded her report by noting a decrease in COVID-19 cases within the department and mentioned participation in the Macy's tree lighting event that evening.
