LoJackie's owner Salvador addresses permit challenges and soundproofing at community meeting

With 90% of soundproofing work already completed, Salvador revealed that the installation of a new door is set to be finished in just 21 days. However, he expressed deep concern over the financial strain his establishment is facing due to the inability to host these events, which has led to significant income losses and forced him to cut employee hours.

Salvador, who has operated LoJackie's for over 20 years, emphasized his proactive approach in addressing noise complaints, stating that he has maintained good relations with neighbors and has not received any complaints in the last decade regarding noise from entertainment. He also brought documentation to support his claims, including financial records showing a drop in income and the impact on his 15 employees, 12 of whom work full-time.

The council members acknowledged Salvador's efforts in sound mitigation and discussed the next steps, which include an inspection to verify the soundproofing. They also encouraged community engagement through the SF 311 program for reporting public cleanliness issues, which Salvador noted has been a challenge due to littering in the area.
