Fire Department unveils advanced hose tender enhancing firefighting capabilities

The recent government meeting in San Francisco highlighted the introduction of a new hose tender designed to enhance the city's firefighting capabilities. This new equipment replaces an older model that functioned primarily as a hose cart, significantly upgrading the city's emergency response resources.

The new hose tender is equipped with advanced features, including the ability to draw in up to 8,000 gallons of water per minute and push out approximately 5,000 gallons per minute. This capability is crucial for managing large-scale fires, such as those in warehouses or other significant conflagrations. The system also includes a portable submersible pump that can independently pump 3,000 gallons of water.

During the demonstration, the hose tender showcased its ability to deploy a powerful stream of water through its master stream device. It can effectively supply water over a radius of more than a mile, making it a versatile mobile resource for firefighting across the city. The meeting emphasized the importance of this new equipment in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency responses.
