Christina Thiebaud named February employee of the month by DOS for exceptional client care

The San Francisco Department of Social Services (DSS) held a meeting to honor Christina Thiebaud as the Employee of the Month for February 2024. Executive Director Dearman presented the recognition, highlighting Thiebaud's exceptional contributions as a social worker specialist within the Collaborative Caregiver Support Team (CCST).

Thiebaud began her career with the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) in March 2021, managing a caseload of 270 clients. She quickly gained a reputation for her energetic and compassionate approach, consistently going above and beyond to assist both clients and colleagues. In August 2023, she transitioned to the CCST, where she took on the responsibility of supporting clients facing mental health and substance abuse challenges.

During the meeting, Thiebaud's dedication was exemplified through a specific incident where she responded to a client in distress. Upon finding the client on the floor after an unsafe discharge from a facility, she acted swiftly to ensure his safety, contacting adult protective services and providing immediate care, including cooking a meal for him.

Thiebaud expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing her commitment to serving the community and the importance of dignity and respect for clients. She acknowledged the support from her leadership and colleagues, which she credits for her growth as a social worker.

This recognition not only highlights Thiebaud's individual achievements but also underscores the vital role of social workers in enhancing the lives of vulnerable populations in San Francisco.
